   Welcome to first grade!  I have discovered that I absolutely love teaching first grade!  For those of you who don't know me, my name is Katie Clouse.  I have taught at West Valley for the last 20 years.  I have taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grades here, and taught 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades in a different district previously.  Four years ago I made the jump to first grade and I am so glad I did.  Seeing the children every day so happy and eager to learn has rejuvenated my teaching.  Personally, I am married and have three children - a 21 year old son, Tre' who is currently operating his own business and getting ready to be married next fall, an 18 year old daughter, Grace, who is in college, and a 12 year old daughter, Olivia, who is in 7th grade at Pioneer Middle School.  My husband, Tom, works as a biology teacher at Pioneer Central School.  I am really looking forward to working with all of my new friends (both children and parents) in first grade!
