West Valley Central School is located in the hamlet of West Valley, in the town of Ashford, NY. Situated 35 miles south of Buffalo in Cattaraugus County, West Valley Central School enrolls approximately 200 students in grades Pre-K through twelve. The district encompasses the hamlet of West Valley, the town of Ashford, and parts of the towns of East Otto, Ellicottville, Machias, and Yorkshire.

The school is housed in a single building with designated sections for elementary, middle and high school students, with a shared auditorium, gymnasium, cafeteria and library. The school complex of 100+ acres includes a playground, softball field, track, and wooded terrain with hiking trails and a picnic area.
