West Valley Students Conduct DNA Research with UB

Dr. Stephen Koury from the University of Buffalo is at West Valley today, guiding our students through a hands-on research project!
Students are amplifying DNA and running it through a reaction, then uploading the data to a program that will identify bacteria in a sample they collected at Scoby Dam. This is the second step in their ongoing research, which will culminate in a symposium at the end of the school year where they will present their findings.
